It went well today, not too hard, and I might even get some yoga done. I seem to be using the same boring route as I always run.... out the door to the south, turn east on 15th, and then back. However, it gives me some tough but doable hills to practice on, some uneven terrain since the sidewalk is torn up in spots and slants severely by the golf course, and most importantly I know it like the back of my hand. I think that is useful as the days get shorter and it gets darker when I run, but it's also good now so I can concentrate on my timed intervals and not tripping over the dog. Lily loves going for runs.
We made a new friend today as well. A cute 4 or 5month old Husky named Max. His owner is really nice too. He really wanted to play, but since we were next to the street, that was a bad idea.
I think, barring any injuries, I'll try to do a 5K this fall. For sure I'll do the Thanksgiving 5K, since they give out long sleeved Dri-Fit shirts! Gotta love a race with good loot.
